​​Eva Þyri Hilmarsdóttir has been an active figure in the Icelandic music scene for the last several years and was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards for a CD with Jórunn Viðar's songs, alongside Erla Dóra Vogler in 2018.

After graduating from the Reykjavík College of Music, Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in Aarhus and the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated with Distinction and was awarded a DipRAM and the Christian Carpenter Piano Prize for an outstanding final recital, she has taken avid interest in chamber music and lied and has performed with some of the most outstanding musicians in Iceland. Furthermore, she has given solo recitals and numerous first performances of Icelandic and foreign compositions, appearing in festivals at home and abroad. She also participated in The Icelandic Opera’s production of La Voix Humaine by Poulenc in 2017.

Eva Þyri was a part of the artistic leadership of “The Year of Icelandic Song” in Salurinn in the 2022-23 season and she is the co-founder and pianist of a new Lieder-festival in Hannesarholt; „Ljóðið lifi“.

She teaches at Iceland University of the Arts alongside giving recitals.
